Josh Rogers : Whatever Director.

I call myself "whatever director" because, at my own shop, and in other advertising, design and innovation ones, I have led strategy and creative. I can do either individually, but I am at my best with both, embracing the blur between the two to make things and their marketing more unusual and effective.

A Bio:

Josh was born and raised in the woods. Later, he earned his English literature degree from the University of Virginia. After graduating (and going undrafted by the Boston Celtics), he moved to New York to become an Ad Exec. Stints as a Strategic Planner and Writer at McCann Erickson and Berlin Cameron gave Josh a passion for building brands through nontraditional means. In 2001 he joined (Neil) Powell, a design-focused communication company, where he was a strategic and creative partner. MDC bought Powell and Josh joined the newly-merged MFP as Partner & Concept Director. He and Neil then founded We Are Gigantic, where they were co-creative directors. Before joining IDEO to co-invent and lead the marketing and advertising offering, Josh was Executive Creative Director at Imagination and co-founder and creative director of Operator, a newfangled collaboration-based new media shop where he continued to make campaigns and other things that typically defy definition. For his work with brands like Rheingold Beer, Disney, Reebok, vitaminwater, Perry Ellis, the NBA, Coca-Cola, Genentech and Sundance, Josh has been recognized by D&AD, Communication Arts, the One Show, the CLIOs, the EFFIEs, the Jay Chiat Planning Awards and NYU's Stern School of Business. He values his experience as a guest teacher, speaker and new creative voice on the EFFIE Steering Committee. He's happy to live in the woods again, at least part time.
